During your scheduled session, we incorporate the use of an inversion therapy table, which is situated in your own private room. We set the table based on your individual height and needs and help you in. The table is then inverted at an angle to help circulate more blood, oxygen and nutrients to your brain and to help alleviate pressure on the body. The use of the inversion table has been reported to benefit the circulatory system and help detoxify the organs. The increase in the blood flow to the heart and extremities helps the fluids flow more easily and promotes a healthy exchange of nutrients while flushing out toxins and helping to eliminate waste.
According to the mayo clinic, inversion therapy helps to stretch the spine, decompress the spine and provide relief from back pain. Many do not know exactly what it does; they just know it feels great! Inverting to as little as 25 degrees for only a few minutes has been shown to help relieve stress and muscle tension. In fact, one controlled study found that EMG activity, an indicator of muscle pain, declined over 35% within 10 seconds of inverting!
According to dr. oz (February 2010), inversion therapy increases the blood flow to the brain which increases the production of dopamine and serotonin. These increases can provide many benefits to the mind and body and can benefit both our physical and mental health. Benefits can include relief from symptoms associated with Parkinson’s disease, depression, anxiety, attention deficit disorder, substance/alcohol abuse and withdrawal, kidney dysfunction, appetite issues, weight issues, insomnia and sleep disorders, learning and memory issues, and many other symptoms including those surrounding mood and behavior.
Many doctors, physical therapists, massage therapists and sports trainers recognize inversion as an effective way to prevent compression fatigue joint injuries. In fact, the u.s. army physical fitness school intends to include inversion into their worldwide physical training doctrine.
